Suhail Rizvi, Mysterious Indian Origin Investor Makes $3.8 Bln With Twitter IPO

IPOs or Initial Public Offerings are exciting because it is just like a lottery. Investors buy the lottery tickets years in advance, hoping that when the curtains are raised, they hit jackpot.
And one such jackpot has been won by a mysterious India born investor, who has just made $3.8 billion after Twitter’s IPO went public this week.
Meet Suhail R. Rizvi, 47, who runs Michigan based Rizvi-Traverse Management LLC and host of other funds which invests in companies and then make a fortune out of that. Besides Twitter, he has invested in Facebook, Square, Pinterest and Flipboard. Google Glass Road Show Heads To Detroit Next Weekend

Google has announced that its second Google Glass “roadshow” event will happen next weekend in Detroit.
The events offer the public a chance to get a taste of how Glass works, ask questions and learn about the device — all with help from Glass Guides.
The Detroit event is set for November 16th and 17th at the Museum of Contemporary Art, running from 10 am to 6 pm both days. It’s free, and RSVP’s are required online. The first event in Durham, NC, sold out several days in advance … so don’t wait if you’re planning to go next weekend.

Why So Sad? Curalate Study Finds Instagram Images With Blue Hues Win More Likes

After analyzing over 30 image features of eight million Instagram photos, visual analytics provider Curalate found images with blue hues received 24 percent more Likes than photos with predominantly red hues on the photo-sharing platform.
Scheduled to be released next week, Curalate’s Instagram study also discovered single-colored images were more popular than images with multiple colors, winning 17 percent more Likes. The Instagram study results were much different than the findings from Curalate’s earlier Pinterest study that found, among other things, red images were more likely to be repinned than blue images on Pinterest boards.
“We noticed this too and thought it was pretty interesting,” said Curalate CEO Apu Gupta, “Becoming a more visual-centric marketer is still in its infancy. Instagram and Pinterest are relatively young platforms and it’s clear the way people engage with these platforms is different.”
