How to Hide your Email Address on Web Pages

You have a website, you want to put your email address on the site so that people can contact you easily but you are also worried about spam flooding your mailbox once your email address begins to appear on a public web page.

1. Hide Email through CSS
1a. CSS pseudo-classes
You can use the ::before and ::after pseudo-elements in CSS to insert the email username and domain name on either sides of the @ symbol. The bots, which are generally blind to CSS, will only see the @ sign while browsers will render the complete email address which, in this case, is john@gmail.com.

<style>
email::after {
content: attr(data-domain);
}
email::before {
content: attr(data-user);
}

Unruly Ranks 2013′s Top 10 Christmas Video Ads

Measuring the total number of shares for holiday-themed video ads, viral video chart maker Unruly has compiled a list of the top ten Christmas video ads for 2013. At the top of the list is WestJet’s “Christmas Miracle” ad, a video that went viral early on during the holiday season.
Since its December 8 release last month, the WestJet video ad has generated 34.4 million views and more than two million shares. A heartwarming look at how the airline organized a surprise gift-giving event for a flight of lucky passengers, WestJet’s video continues to grow in popularity, earning 2,654 shares during the last 24 hours alone.

Vine Launches Profile Pages, Adds “TV Mode” Viewing

Just a couple weeks after taking reservations for profile URLs, Vine has rolled out profile pages for all of its users.
This is a welcome move for anyone that uses Vine, but especially for brands that have been successful — or want to be successful — in using the six-second video platform to grow an audience. The profile pages now give anyone an easy way to see all of a brand’s videos in one place, get embed codes and other sharing options, start to follow the brands, etc.

Users can also leave comments on videos right from the profile page. Strangely, commenting still isn’t possible from a video’s post page.
Vine is also adding a new feature called “TV Mode” to the profile pages. A small TV icon in the upper right of the browser window lets users watch all of an account’s videos in sequence and in full-screen mode.
Vine’s blog post says this is the “first step toward bringing you a richer, more enjoyable web experience,” and more improvements are on the way.

That’s almost double the 14.77 percent that mobile sales accounted for in January 2013.
In fact, when we last checked in with Affiliate Window in May 2013, mobile sales were at a then-record of 18 percent. (The company says it’s now using an improved tracking system, and that figure from May has been revised upward to 19 percent.)
Since May, mobile sales through Affiliate Window’s network have risen consistently, with the exception of slight dips in September and October.

Mobile Traffic Hits 39 Percent, iPhone Declining
Affiliate Window also says that mobile traffic across its network peaked at 39.35 percent on Christmas day, and averaged 32.4 percent for the whole month of December.
