Live Blog: Hershey’s Digital Marketing Keynote At #iMediaSummit

Arby’s Buys Pharrell’s Grammys Hat, Rides #Oscars Buzz With Timely Tweet

Arby’s garnered lots of attention with a tweet to Pharrell on Grammy’s night asking for its hat back. Turns out Pharrell put the now famous Vivienne Westwood creation on eBay for charity in February. In serendipitous — though more likely brilliantly strategic — fashion, the auction ended at 5 PM Pacific Time on the day of the Oscars.
Pharrell sent out a thank you tweet to the auction winner. Arby’s quickly tweeted back with proof it was the auction winner and wished Pharrell luck at the #Oscars in the contest for Original Song.

While the tweet didn’t hit the level of Grammys night, which topped more than 80,000 retweets and nearly 50,000 favorites, the brand has received more than 7,000 retweets and 5,500 favorites for its Oscars night nod. Not bad for an evening dominated by Ellen’s record-setting selfie tweet.

Dawn Data Brings A Daily Dose Of Google Analytics To Google Glass

The Google Glass app ecosystem is growing slowly (the Glass Developer Kit still hasn’t been released), but one of the newest apps around is bound to be a hit with the marketing community.
It’s called Dawn Data, and it’s a new app from developers Mark Silverberg and Brian Norris. Silverberg says the app was initially a personal project, but he decided to convert it to a public app for other Glass Explorers to use.
Dawn Data obviously doesn’t deliver full Google Analytics functionality and data to Glass, but it does give just about all of the traditional traffic-based data that a website owner would want. And it gives a pretty in-depth snapshot, too — you get your traffic in standard numeric form, as well as several charts with time-period comparisons.

Ellen Breaks The Twitter With All-Star Selfie At #Oscars

Ellen wanted to make the most retweeted photo on Twitter, and she’s likely to get her wish. Soon after taking a star-studdied selfie live during the Academy Awards, Twitter started throwing up all types of errors.
Here’s Ellen taking the picture, soon after saying she wanted to hit a record:

Soon after it was posted, Twitter had all types of problems. Those are clearing up now — and the rewtweets are likely to go up, too.
