Cleaning Product Brand Launches “Cleanest Twitter Account” With Automagically Appearing Images

European homecare brand Spontex, with help from Fred & Farid, has launched a French Twitter account — @SpontexFrance — that is being billed as “The Cleanest Twitter Account.” Get it? Cleaning product brand launches clean Twitter account? OK. Moving on.This “cleanest Twitter account” is clean in the sense that, well, the feed is basically blank white space until, that is, you click on the white space which then expands to an image which delivers witty, secret messages — some showing the brand’s cute hedgehog mascot — all designed to tout the brand’s new Full Action System Broom. If the lure of finding the secrets behind the white space isn’t enough, the brand will occasionally insert tweets that reward the new product to the first person to favorite them. The images in the tweets are made from white PNG images which automagically display when the larger Twitter image window opens. Here’s a video overview of the campaign. How To Leverage Community To Build A Great Brand

Building a great brand is top of mind for today’s best marketers. They know that to succeed in today’s competitive climate their brands need to stand for something that millions of consumers are willing to stand behind. But how exactly do you do that?A lot goes into creating a brand that is truly differentiated in the market. Two key assets that we as marketers understand well are the product itself and the culture of the company.Whereas many years ago we overly focused on selling product features and value, recently there has been a shift to also package and share the team philosophy, company culture and mission. When all of this is combined, it hopefully creates a brand worth believing in.But what about the community behind that brand? In my experiences at Porch, I’ve seen a triangulation in value between the product, the company culture, and the community as key assets to building a great brand. Community is often considered something that “comes later” or something that is optiona…

What Guacamole Can Teach us About Content Marketing

Let’s talk about guacamole. No, really. Let’s…The green, fresh delicious mush that we all crave — that dissolves in our mouth and is the perfect companion to the tortilla chip and a friend to the margarita. We all love it, and we can’t get enough of it.Now let’s talk about content marketing. Maybe not as delicious as our green, gooey favorite, but just as desirable. A crop of blog posts and thoughtful strategies can equal success for the most consistent of marketers. The phrase “content marketing” is the subject of much discussion in the digital realm and is touted as the best and most relevant way to engage with customers, old and prospective. The Content-Guacamole Link
So what do guacamole and content marketing have anything whatsoever to do with one another? (I know you’re wondering that at this point. Or you’re just hungry.) Either way, this really all has to do with one type of guacamole: Chipotle’s.If you haven’t heard already, Chipotle recently released a full recipe of its tasty…

Amazon Gets Visual With Stream, A Pinterest Style Shopping Experience

As the online shopping environment has shifted to a more visual experience, and it seems that the industry’s largest name, Amazon, has taken notice. This old dog has learned a new trick with “Stream”, a visual repository of ‘Beautiful things, updated daily”. From this service users can instantly view products and also make the purchase directly from Amazon. At first glace Stream looks like the lovechild of both Fancy any Pinterest, but as the layers are peeled back, the comparisons come to a halt. Pinterest and Fancy offer customized shopping experiences while this isn’t the case (yet) with Amazon’s Stream. What is similar however is the ability to save products that a user desires and add to a “Your Saves” list:The saves list is just that however a place to store items, not to motor to drive a user’s fashion choices programmatically. Another oddity of Stream is that all of the current products are sponsored. It appears that to show in stream, a product must be included in “Amazon’s Sp…
