Samsung’s Tizen-based Z1 has Sold over 500,000 Units in India Till Now [Report]

The big battle in the mobile market is between Apple’s iPhone and the Android army, with Microsoft taking the third place. But there are also other mobile operating systems which are a good alternative for those looking to try out something different.Samsung’s Tizen OS is currently powering just the Z1 smartphone, and we were reporting back in February that the South Korean company was claiming that it managed to sell more than 120,000 units since launch. Now, a fresh report from BusinessKorea publication claims that things are looking even better for the company.Samsung claims to have sold over 500,000 units of the device in India since its January launch. The handset has proven particularly successful in Bangladesh, where it has managed to capture almost a quarter of the smartphone market, according to the publication. Its affordable price of slightly less than $100 was most likely the major factor for its popularity. The Korean publication further adds that ‘based on the better-than…

Have you ever struggled to find that “sweet spot” in marketing your business? You know the place — where new leads (and clients) are consistently seeking you out … asking for more information … signing up for your email list … and asking that coveted question all business owners love to hear: “How can I buy?”Today I want to show you a scalable method for getting into that “sweet spot” and staying there. Trust me, once you start to experience the increase of lead flow that this method will produce for your business, you’ll wonder how you lived without it for so long. There are plenty of articles around the Internet promising to teach you the “secret methods” for closing more business than you can handle, but when it comes to creating something sustainable — something you don’t have to constantly be worried about at night or on the weekends — well, this is about as sustainable as it gets. It’s single-handedly responsible for taking just one of my businesses from zero to $50k per month in …

Micromax to Launch its new Flagship Smartphone on June 18 — likely the Canvas 5

It’s been too long since Micromax, India’s largest smartphone vendor launched a flagship smartphone. But that will change later this week when the company launches a new smartphone. Micromax has just sent us an email to let us know that it will be launching a new phone on May 18. We have learned that this phone is none other than the long due Canvas 5, which the company was expected to launch last year. For a refresh, Micromax launched the Canvas 4 back in 2013. The company has since launched a number of devices in its Canvas premium smartphone lineup, but all of them came equipped with low- to mid-range specs, targeted at users looking for an affordable device. We have learned that the new smartphone in question is its latest flagship smartphone. The name however, isn’t known yet. The company could go with either Canvas Selfie or the Canvas 5.© Raju PP for Technology Personalized, 2015. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. How I Came To Work For A Killer: An Online Reputation Fable

Some of the work my search marketing agency does is “Online Reputation Management” — or, it might be more accurate to call it “Online Reputation Repair.” We sometimes work to help individuals and companies to try to make a better impression in search results when their names are searched upon. In this case, that involves a homicide.I should preface by stating that I won’t work for just anybody — I’m not at all a “mercenary for hire” or anything close — there are quite a number of individuals and companies that I’ve turned down flat in the course of my career. If it appears that a company’s core business model is based on victimization, I won’t touch it. Or, if my work would put innocent people at risk of some kind of harm, it’s not for me.I’ve turned down significant potential contracts with companies that were barely legal pyramid schemes, doctors providing medical tourism services, oil companies that are involved with possible securities fraud, or groups that seemed distastefully cu…

Why Learnings From The ‘90s Banner Ad Still Apply Today

Mobile, wearables, interactive TV and other sexy visions of the future are dominating industry headlines right now. However, if a headline includes the word “banner,” it’s typically adjacent to something along the lines of “dead, death or dying.”No one pays attention to display advertising — the euphemism we use to make the banner ad more appealing. It’s considered a cheap, unremarkable thing of the past. But the technology we use to power display has, in fact, become the engine that powers the most interesting aspects of advertising today. Most advertising and marketing technology companies don’t think of the creative as a constraint. Most important are the individual we’re reaching and the data available to choose what to show someone where and when.Display advertising now encompasses any ad that can be targeted to an individual. It’s all about the data and whether the individual can be targeted in this channel. We no longer need to rely solely on the invented “personas” or standard …

More Evidence on the Larger Screen iPad Pro: iOS 9 Keyboard Adjusts With Higher Resolution

Apple has long been rumoured to be working on a larger screen iPad, being referred to as the iPad Pro. The tablet from the Cupertino-based giant is said to sport a 12-inch display and feature multi-window tasking support. We have seen plenty of purported photographs and renders of this forthcoming device so far, and with iOS 9 offering support for Split View, the odd of the existence of this device has become more pragmatic. But if you are still not buying these rumors, here’s some more evidence that the launch of a larger iPad is imminent. The stock keyboard laced by Apple in iOS 9 surprisingly adapts itself when the screen resolution of the device is increased. The iPad keyboard shifts the position of Tab and Caps Lock keys onto the left side, and brings in an entirely new row of symbols — including @, #, $, and % among others — on the top. As programmer Steve Troughton-Smith notes (which was first spotted by 9to5Mac), once the screen resolution is upped to a higher resolution, the k…

Forget Fingerprint Scanners, Amazon Seems to be Interested in Using Your Ear to Unlock the Phone — Here’s Why It’s Better

Having to unlock your phone every time you receive a call can become jarring over time. Most smartphones allow users to let them take calls without the hassle of unlocking the device, but then it opens the possibility of unauthorized usage. Amazon may have a solution for that. The world’s largest e-commerce company was granted a patent last week that reveals company’s intention to ease up the unlocking mechanism in a phone when a user receives a call without any security tradeoff.Imagine taking out your phone from the pocket and holding it in front of your ear for a second and it automatically identifies the right owner of the device. That’s what the company wants to do, according to the patent 13/083,330.As mentioned in the puzzling description, as soon as a user brings the phone closer to the ear, the device takes a photograph of the user’s ear and identifies — tapping the biometric information — whether it is the rightful owner of the device who is accessing the phone.“An electronic…

Hitman: Sniper and Dead Among Us – Two Similar, Yet Different Sharpshooters

It is not often that you see a clash of different generations on the App Store. So what happened earlier this month was pretty rare. We had a mobile game based on one of the most famous gaming franchises hit the App Store even as the world raved about another game, which was similar in format and yet so different. We are talking of Square Enix’s Hitman: Sniper and Rolocule’s Dead Among Us.Both games are sharpshooters. You are going to spend a lot of time peering down the telescopic sight of your weapons.
Both games start off with missions.
Both involve having to take down enemies from a distance (Hitman uses a rifle, Dead Among Us hands you a bow)
Both hand you rewards that you can spend on weapons upgrades. And yet both are SO different (so much so that we used an all caps ‘so’).In many ways Hitman: Sniper and Dead Among Us represent a clash of gaming generations and cultures. The former is unabashedly about high-class graphics and elaborate gameplay. The latter is about simple, direct…

10 Best iPhone and iPad Apps This Week (June 15th): Some Personal Favorites

The week after WWDC we decided to shake things up a bit. As expected, it was a huge week in Apple world, but a bit of a downer when it came to new app releases. So instead of bringing you a list of not-quite-up-to-the-mark apps, we decided to think different (ha?).So this week, we picked some of our personal favorite apps. Apps that we’ve used for months, years. Apps that have been on our homescreens and yet, they might be new to you. No, it’s not the usual Facebook, Instagram, Tweetbot kind of list.1. App Store’s Free App of the Week: SlayinSlayin is a console style, pixelated, endless RPG. Yes, it’s basically a mixture of several different gaming genres but hey, it works. It’s simple, choose a hero, start the game, move forward, slay monsters, level up. And keep doing this for eternity. Good luck.2. TechPP’s Game of the Week: ThreesThrees is one of my all time favorite games and I’m glad it’s gone free. Because now you don’t have an excuse to check it out. You’re probably already pl…
