Not Just A Boon For Amazon: Prime Day Effect Felt Across The Web

It turns out Wednesday wasn’t just Christmas in July for Amazon Prime sellers. The influence of Amazon Prime Day rippled beyond the ecommerce giant’s own marketplace to boost consumer activity across retailer-owned sites and other marketplaces on Wednesday.Several major retailers across verticals saw a lift on their own sites, says consumer identity platform Signal. The firm told Marketing Land, Friday, that in analyzing millions of customer interactions across the owned sites of 20 major brands, it saw an average lift of 20 percent on Prime Day . With 7.6 Million Shares, Huffington Post Is Top Publisher In June On Facebook [Report]

Huffington Post earned the most social shares on Facebook among the internet’s major publishers, with more than 7.6 million shares of its content during the month of June. That activity comes from the news site’s 21,722 published articles during the month, according to new data from NewsWhip, a platform that tracks content sharing on social networks. (Note: Many of the publishers on its list are also NewsWhip clients.)Traditional media outlets like Fox News (4), NBC (5), The Guardian (9) and BBC (10) all made the top 10, as did less known outlets like LittleThings.com (3) and Diply (8). Remarkably, those two sites cracked the top 10 of Facebook shares with only 2,100 and 3,100 articles, respectively — a far cry from, for example, the 59,000 articles that Fox News published during June.HuffPo was No. 2 behind Playbuzz.com when NewsWhip last posted its list of the most-shared publishers, but Playbuzz asked out of the list because it considers itself a platform for others to become publis…

While there are rumblings of El Nino-style weather next year, this year Californians continue to face challenges.A new online game and accompanying campaign, created by Campbell Ewald for Energy Upgrade California, aims to counter #droughtshaming — the practice of shaming and blankly staring at people wasting water when they shouldn’t be — with the #BearStare. The #BearStare game, which uses a person’s computer camera and face tracking technology, challenges people to outlast the stare of a very witty bear who does his best to knock people off their stare game by dropping quips and tips on how to use less water and save energy.Win or lose, people can upload their stare to the campaign site gallery and to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The game is accompanied by a TV spot which features the bear and urges people to seek out information on saving water as well as avoidi…
