New Wipes Let Parents Smear Baby Poop All Over Unsolicited Child Care Advice

In response to research that found over half of new moms feel overwhelmed by parenting advice and opinion, baby bottle brand Tommee Tippee, with help from McCann, has launched #ParentOn, a campaign which encourages moms to take advice with a grain of salt and simply go their own way.To accomplish this, Tommee Tippee, a popular UK baby products brand that’s currently expanding into the US, collected thousands of baby books and magazine articles and, with help from a paper-making facility, recycled them into a new line of baby wipes, Tommee Tippee Advice Wipes. So, yes, it’s exactly what you think. Moms using those baby wipes can now gleefully smear baby poop all over that unsolicited advice. In a nod to the fact that parents have been successful at raising children for hundreds of thousands of years before moms were smacked upside the head with endless advice from the media and friends, McCann North America Chief Creative Officer Eric Silver said:“Parenting advice is everywhere. It’s har…

The Trump Factor: What Your Business Can Learn From Donald Trump’s Wild And Wacky Campaign For President

Donald Trump by Gage Skidmore 3” by Gage Skidmore. Licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0 via Commons. Donald Trump has surged to the top of the polls in the GOP primary race, taking a double-digit lead over seasoned and tenured political operators.Everyone is talking about Trump, but what’s really happening here? Why is Trump capturing all the headlines and seemingly sucking the oxygen out of the room?To a large extent, it’s because he has the loudest voice in the room — or more accurately, the loudest voice in the “digital room.”For better or worse, Trump is cashing in on the massive social presence he has cultivated over the years and wielding his multi-channel assets like a CMO instead of a traditional politician.Breaking Down Trump’s Social PresenceThere are a lot of reasons (political and non-political) why Trump is outperforming the other candidates in the GOP field. And his ability to connect with voters through social media is clearly one of the driving forces behind his early success.U…

Your Online Presence Is Failing: Here Are 4 Reasons Why

The cheese moved. The buying process has changed. Technology to support and further that change continues to grow and evolve. Communicating through the vast array of digital channels (website, SEM, social, email) is no longer an option. It is a must-do.The online presence of your business must attract and convert prospects. It must engage with leads through a variety of channels as users travel through a longer and more complex buying cycle. How we market and communicate online has come a long way from static, brochure-like internet pages and “spray-and-pray” email blasts. Unfortunately, for many, online marketing is still failing to reach its full potential.Pointing a finger at the underlying technology would be easy, e.g., marketing automation, content management systems or any of the tools and solutions laid out in Scott Brinker’s Marketing Technology Super Graphic. It’s easy to say the technology is failing, so the marketing effort is failing. But the reality is more complex. Here a…

The Generational Content Gap: How Different Age Groups Consume Content

What do you buy? What makes you loyal to a brand? Where do you spend your time? If you could ask a modern 18-year-old and one from 25 years ago those same questions, you would probably get very different answers. Each generations has its own distinct values and behaviors, so understanding the nuances of different age groups is essential for marketers trying to reach a specific target. This is why marketers fixate on learning about the newest generation, as we’ve witnessed with the present-day focus on understanding what makes Millennials tick. When it comes to content marketing, considering the generation of your audience can help inform your content creation and promotion approach. A recent study by Fractl (my employer) and BuzzStream found the generations have as many differences as they have similarities when it comes to online content consumption habits and preferences. The study surveyed more than 1,200 people across three generations: Millennials (born 1977–1995), Generation Xers (…

5 Best iPhone and iPad Apps : August Week 2

I’m sure you’re experiencing the lull that sweeps us a month before a new Apple Event. With the iPhone 6s event probably taking place at September 9, I find myself urging my friends to just wait a month before buying a new iPhone. The lull affects us in the tech writing biz too. There’s no new information. Only rumors (that we mostly try to stay away from).Frankly, I’m just waiting for the September keynote and the flood gates to open. iOS 9. El Cap, new iPhone, Force Touch, hopefully a big new iPad Pro.But as always, there’s no dull time in iOS apps world. The first two weeks of August saw some great updates it established apps. And finally, there’s a new news reading app in town. And this one is trying to charm us with its stylish looks, as well as its intelligent curation.1. WildcardIf you’ve got an iPhone and you like catching up on the news or just reading the best journalism from the web, you’ve got to checkout Wildcard. Microsoft Launches Free Windows 10 for Virtual Machines (With a Catch)

Microsoft seems to be hell bent on making Windows 10 more accessible so that users can give it a try atleast once. After several people downgraded to Windows 8.1, thanks to the crippled support for some of the apps, and the fact that Windows 10 has been gobbling up a lot of bandwidth due to its P2P update system is also keeping few of the potential Windows 10 users at bay.Microsoft has announced support for a couple of virtual machines that will let users take the Windows 10 for a spin before upgrading. The downloads are actually aimed at providing the developers a simulated environment to test out their apps and also how their product functions on different versions of the Microsoft Edge web browser. The best part is that this feature is not exclusive for developers and literally anyone can check out the Windows 10 without sacrificing the comfort of their current Windows version. The readily available simulators that have been doing rounds in the market include VMware, HyperV and Virt…

In Google’s Android-Candy Universe “M” Is For Marshmallow

Someday, in a museum, there will be an exhibit of all the statutes of all the different versions and flavors of Android. The latest — Android 6.0 or “M” — is being called “Marshmallow.” The official SDK is now available for Android developers. When Google announced “M” at its I/O developer conference earlier this summer the update promised (and presumably now delivers) a range of major and minor improvements for developers and users. For example, it gives Android owners finer control over app permissions — what phone features (e.g., location) your apps can access.Another feature called “Doze” will conserve power when the phone is at rest or in standby mode, extending battery life. Fingerprint authentication is being standardized in M. Most Android devices and apps don’t currently utilize it but that will change with the next round of hardware releases. The most immediate and obvious use case for biometric authentication is Android Pay, Google’s Apple Pay competitor and the successor to …

Network Vulnerability Allows Anyone from Anywhere in the World to Eavesdrop on Your Calls and Track Location

Cellphones in general and smartphones in particular have become the treasure trove of personal information and this is increasingly attracting the hackers attention. The data in cellphone speaks so much about the individual that it can be admitted as one of the most comprehensive set of information you could probably scrape off a person. Aussie based TV program, “60 minutes”, has telecasted a special report showing how hackers were able to record a mobile phone conversation of a politician and also track his movements from a base which is situated thousands of miles away. The loophole seems to be a SS7 flaw in the architecture of the signalling system which is devised to allow mobile phone roaming across telecom providers. SS7 signalling protocol was developed way back in 1975 and now in the current cellular setup it is used to perform transitional functions including, prepaid billing, SMS, local number portability among a host of other services.Flags were raised in 2014 when it was re…

How To Check Virus Online By Uploading File?

Do you sell any digital goods online? Have you received any complaint from few users saying their Antivirus is blocking the file? Here at ShoutMeLoud, I sell few e-books (Free + Paid) & plugins. I ensure my system remains safe by using inbuilt Mac Firewall & stay away from downloading files from unreliable sources.Getting back to why I ended up searching for online virus scanner:ShoutMeLoud free WordPress Guide eBook has been downloaded more than 5000 times and in the past 2 months, I received 2 emails saying that their antivirus software (Avast to be precise) disabled the file access. Here is the email that I received:This was something unlikely to happen & I started digging more into this issue. The very first step was to check if the file is infected or not. (Do read the second section to learn about virus false positive detection). My requirement was simple, as I needed o…
