How to quickly find and export all subdomains indexed by Google

An SEO audit is rarely limited to the www (or non-www) version of a website. When looking for potential duplicate content, it’s often important to know how many subdomains exist and, more importantly, how many of them are indexed by Google. The good old search operatorsAn easy way to find indexed subdomains is to use search operators.Start with “site:” and the root domain. One by one, remove each subdomain (including: “www”) from the results with the “-inurl:” operator. When there are no more results for Google to return, your query with the search operators should include all subdomains indexed. However, this technique has its limits.[Read the full article on Search Engine Land.]

Why your audiences are so important

No, it’s not a misspelling or a typo – I did say audiences, plural! Why am I putting such an emphasis on that plural? Because most people fail too! People tell you to write for your audience; locate your audience; conduct keyword research for your target audience; create quality content to please your audience. They don’t tell you that you have more than one audience! And it’s true – almost every single one of you has more than one audience. I’m not talking about sub-groups or divisions of audience – but multiple audiences. These different audiences have completely different behaviours, intentions and reactions to your content.Notice all those lovely informative posts that talk about your sales or conversion funnel? You realise that they are completely wrong – well, some of the time they are. That’s because of different audiences. So what are the different audiences?Well, that’s a secret. Oh, okay, I’ll tell you :DConsumersPeersThat’s it – that’s your secret?Well, yes. But there’s far mor…

How B2B marketers can win the battle for attention

We’re all competing to capture the attention of our best prospects and customers, and, let’s face it — that’s no easy feat. We’re bombarded daily with information from all sides and individually choose to let in what we care about in the moment and block out anything that just creates overload. With research and buying habits from our personal lives bleeding into and influencing our professional lives, there’s a battle for attention that’s getting tougher to fight every day. Just like we disregard a commercial on TV or an ad in a magazine due to its lack of relevance to us, we also block out communications from brands that don’t resonate or address challenges we’re facing.Engagement is the new currency for B2B marketers. When we can capture and hold the attention of our audience, we have a real opportunity to nurture and mature our relationships. Here are four things to consider when trying to build trust with your audience:Focus your efforts on those you want to engageThe notion of mas…

Survey: Pre-roll ads are a major barrier to watching online news videos

Everybody knows that online video is huge. Cat videos. Cooking videos. Funny GIFs. Live video on Facebook or Periscope. The list goes on and on. But there’s one type of video that doesn’t rank very high on that list: news videos. And new data suggest two main reasons why.In a new survey, only 24 percent of web users in 26 countries around the world said they watch news video online in a typical week. The 2016 Digital News Report, commissioned by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and conducted by YouGov, involved more than 50,000 online news consumers and took place in late January/early February of this year. When it comes to online news, people prefer text-based news by a wide margin. Fifty-nine percent said they’d read a news article within the prior week and 41 percent had seen a list of headlines on a news website. Watching news videos was the third most common way to consume news online, but only 24 percent said they’d done so in the previous week. There are geograp…

Taykey opens Trends Advertising targeting to programmatic

New York-based Taykey is making its real-time audience trend data available to programmatic buyers with a new self-service interface and the ability to integrate with DSPs.DSPs and agency trading desks can tap into Taykey’s Trend Advertising platform to mix their own audience targets with Taykey’s trend data for targeting specific content in real-time. Until now, Taykey offered a managed service in which buyers sent audience targets via insertion order and Taykey would match those targets with its trend data for targeting on the Google Display Network.“Fragmentation and the unpredictability of audience interest is making it difficult for programmatic brand buyers to target quality, relevant content at scale” said Taykey Founder & CEO, Amit Avner, in a statement. “By bringing real-time trend data into today’s programmatic workflow, we can deliver the quality of a private exchange with the reach and cost efficiency of an open exchange.”How it worksBuyers plug in their audience targe…

Gvido with E-Ink Display wants to Take Over Sheet Music

Sheet music has been around from long but it has hardly evolved, except for the use of modern music notations. The Sheet music has been one of the elementary instruments for musicians, be it the ones still trying to get a hang of the piano or the professionals. I have no qualms in admitting that Music had never been my cup of tea but I used to see my cousin learn the melodies on his grand piano alongside a bunch of notes. These notes used to get messy and usually one needed to photocopy them all.Now you no more need to scathe from a variety of sources to get your hands on the sheet music, neither do you have to beg and borrow from that friend of yours. A Japanese company has come out with a dual screened E-ink display called the Gvido. The Gvido is made up of two 13.3-inch E-Displays that can be folded. The Gvido not only displays the music sheets but also lets user notate with a pen and can be charged from the microUSB port. It also comes with a 8GB of internal storage and a microSD …

Why technical seo is so much more than just ‘make-up’

Technical SEO is vitally important it is for your website, and provides the foundations for an effective search strategy. I was prompted to write this article having read a post on the subject this week, written by Clayburn Griffin. The author of that article doesn’t seem to value technical SEO so much. He says that “Technical SEO is easy, breezy, beautiful, but it’s no game-changer.” For me, this falls a long way from explaining what technical SEO actually is, and how important it is for your website. In my role I will help clients with a huge range of SEO issues, and a large majority of those technical in nature. These can range from an erroneous implementation of hreflang or JSON-LD to helping a client target territories with no ISO country code – where GEO IP would only get you ~60% accuracy and browser location isn’t an option. As an SEO who specialises in technical SEO, for me it is more of a process than a set of “esoteric skills” – although those skills do come in handy – it is a…

How to Install a Custom ROM on Redmi Note 3 [Guide]

Warning: TechPP is not responsible for any damage that might happen to your phone during this process. You’ll lose all your data upon unlocking bootloader.I was using the Nexus 5 for the past 2 years and it was a great phone. The real reason I fell in love with the phone was stock Android and the plethora of custom ROMs available. However by 2016, my Nexus 5 was starting to show its age. Performance wise it was still a beast but the battery simply didn’t last a day. Also, since I finally got an employee Jio SIM, I needed a smartphone that supports all 4G bands to make full use of the Jio 4G offers. It was time to retire my Nexus 5 for good. My first choice was the Lenovo ZUK Z1, but since it didn’t support Band 5, I skipped it and went ahead with a 32GB Redmi Note 3. When I got my hands on the phone, I was underwhelmed by MIUI. My biggest gripe with MIUI was notification panel. Considering how much stock Android allows you to do with notifications, MIUI was a significant step backward.…
