Twitter, CBS discuss ad sales tied to Democratic, Republican convention livestreams

Once the second-screen companion to TV, Twitter keep striking deals to make itself the first screen.Yesterday USA Network released the second-season premiere episode of hit show “Mr. Robot” on Twitter (and Facebook and Snapchat and YouTube), three days before the episode airs on TV. Then on Monday Twitter announced that CBS News will livestream its coverage of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions on Twitter.Twitter will be the only place other than CBS’s TV channel or digital properties to catch the network’s convention coverage, a Twitter spokesperson confirmed. Throughout each day of both conventions, people will be able to check out the broadcast of CBS News’ convention coverage alongside a live feed of convention-related tweets. If you caught Twitter’s Wimbledon-adjacent livestream last week, you should have a good idea of what to expect. The Twitter spokesperson declined to discuss financial terms of the deal. The perfect local SEO landing page

We work with hundreds of local businesses — from hyperlocal, single-location businesses to nationwide, multi-location companies — at the company I run, Bowler Hat.One pattern we often see is that larger and seemingly more authoritative businesses don’t perform as well in local search as they should. There are many reasons for this, and having multiple locations amplifies the need for solid local SEO foundations. A common issue we come across is the lack of a well-optimized and well-performing landing page for local businesses. In this post, we aim to illustrate what we believe to be the perfect location landing page, based on our experience working with local businesses. We must tick our SEO boxes here, but we must also maximize the leads generated from these pages — to do this, we have to look at the intersection of lead generation and local SEO.Where lead generation meets local SEOThere are two key elements to consider here:Local SEO ranking factorsLanding page conventionsWe want to c…

Using automation to execute PPC strategy

Both technology and automation play a huge role in the digital marketing space. Paid search and social functionality is more complex than ever, the number of platforms and networks that need to be managed is constantly expanding and clients are demanding deeper analysis and insights. These convergent dynamics put a strain on the account manager’s ability to efficiently manage accounts. The right technology provides the ability to automate routine tasks and solve complex problems quickly, which frees up account managers to focus more on strategic planning and exploring new growth opportunities.Defining automation requirementsThe difficult part about automating a PPC account is figuring out where to begin. How do we determine what to automate, and how do we identify the right set of technologies for the job?The first step in the process of answering this question is fully understanding what an account’s goals are (or should be). You can find out this information through business download…

New iPhone 7 Leaked Image Reveals Redesigned Antenna Lines and Bigger Camera Bump

iPhone 7 has been bouncing around the internet for quite a while now with constant leaks and renders. We have tried to keep away from these random leaks, however, today we might have our best look of Apple’s seventh generation flagship. New leaked image from a decently reliable source reveals the upcoming smartphone’s back casing out in the real world, although, the integrity of the image does raise some questions as there’s no “iPhone” branding pointing at an early prototype or a fake.Coming to the main highlight here, the leaked image if believed to be true, provides a backbone to a couple of recent rumors. The first one being that Apple has acknowledged that customers loathe those antenna lines and as a result, the iPhone 7 as shown in the picture comes with a much subtle design language with faded grey top and bottom edges for better reception. Next big change it showcases is a beefier camera arrangement which also apparently brings a larger protruding bump. To be frank, the iPhon…

Five reasons why you should invest in social customer service

If you’re a business in 2016, chances are that you’ve invested time and resources into maintaining a social media presence, to promote your brand and engage with consumers. But have you made the same level of investment into providing a dedicated customer service on social media? Many brands, despite having a social presence, aren’t investing the time and resources into providing a good customer service on those channels.A report by NM Incite into the ‘State of Social Customer Service’ found that although nearly 1 in 3 social media users prefer to reach out to a brand via social channels instead of over the phone, only 36% of users with a customer service inquiry reported having it solved quickly and effectively.14% of users reported the company engaging quickly but failing to solve their issue, and 10% never received a response at all.The fact is that when brands are present on social media, users increasingly expect to be able to reach out to them there and receive an effective respon…

5 emails to re-engage your subscriber list

Building an email list is not an easy task in an e-commerce business. You need to create consistent content that resonates with your target audience. Then, you must actively promote that content to convert your readers into subscribers. But this is just the starting point of email marketing. You need to garner the trust of your prospects if you ever expect them to buy from you.Far too often, marketers employ antiquated email strategies that seldom provide value. Let’s use the fictitious company, “Golf Pro Magazine,” as an example. When someone subscribes to Golf Pro’s email list, he or she receives a handful of autoresponder emails that pitch one of its products. Every once in a while, Golf Pro sends out a newsletter that promotes a new set of golf clubs. Eventually, Golf Pro’s email list becomes idle, often for months at a time. This can often occur in businesses that have massive email lists, which is precisely why the volume of your list isn’t always indicative of your bottom-line rev…

Finding the right brushstrokes for Facebook’s Canvas

Facebook earlier this year launched its Canvas ad product, and let’s face it — it’s pretty well done. In case you missed the fanfare, Canvas is a media-rich, full-screen mobile ad format in the Facebook app that has quick load times. Not coincidentally, Canvas arrived at an incredibly opportune time. Study after study concludes the same basic premise: that consumers are spending more and more time on mobile, and thus brands, if they’re not already there, need to get there — and fast.Sadly, many brands are still confused about exactly the best way to be effective in the mobile channel. At the same time, nearly as many studies conclude that load times for mobile ads are prohibitively slow for consumers and risk tarnishing the entire mobile experience. Not only does Canvas address the speed issue, it also opens up a robust set of features for publishers and ad makers, such as drag-and-drop with no coding and capabilities to include video, animation and GIFs.Nonetheless, this product still …

5 ways to attract more talent — and more customers

The problem: Home services businesses are facing growth challenges because they are failing to attract talent. In a recent HomeAdvisor survey, 93 percent of business owners expressed the belief that their business would grow in the next 12 months if not for hiring challenges.Similarly, a study by the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University found larger-scale remodelers consider finding qualified labor to be their top business challenge. There are plenty of skilled labor jobs available, yet younger workers are not pursuing them.According to a new Pew Research Center analysis of US Census Bureau data, “more than one in three American workers today are Millennials (adults ages 18–34 in 2015), and this year they surpassed Generation X to become the largest share of the American workforce.”The looming question: how to convince Millennials to… ?The solution: In a presentation entitled “Remodeling Industry Labor Trends,” made at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard …

14 influencer marketing essentials for SEO success

Influencers provide great traction with their fan base and there’s a lot of valuable SEO for brands on offer, however this is often not realised. This is mostly because a great deal of focus is spent on merely making the successful partnership work, which often drains all resources to achieve. But if you are an optimist and you’re determined to glean some SEO results from all partnerships then here’s a few pointers to improve the search impact of any collaboration with an influencer.1. Influencer linksThere should always be a desire for audiences to leap from an influencers site to your brand’s website. This should be instilled within all of your influencer marketing activities e.g. seeing the whole of something – the full graph, the full interview, the full video e.t.c.Without a ‘back to mine’ attitude you can’t obtain valuable links.By doing this you immediately start to shape audience conversions from a partnership with an influencer. This is your unique opportunity to show off the m…

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 is Here and it’s 10% More Powerful Than the 820

Most flagship phones launched in 2016 (over 115 to be precise) runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset that has been received well by the crowd when compared to the disastrous Snapdragon 810. However, today, the company has announced a potential upgrade over the top tier processor – Snapdragon 821. Although, the new chipset as rumored, isn’t a substantial innovation over the already established 820 and sports mostly minimal hardware advancements. To begin with, the Snapdragon 821’s 14-nanometer chip is 10% more powerful than the 820 and can be clocked up to 2.4GHz from 2.1GHz in contrast to 820’s 2.2GHz with Qualcomm’s Kryo Quad-Core CPU. The Snapdragon 821 is basically designed to act as an interim solution for upcoming high-end devices until Qualcomm unveils their next generation product. Apart from that, the Snapdragon 821 is borrowing essentially every specification from the Snapdragon 820 including the Ultra HD Voice tech for improved call quality, 600 Mbps X12 LTE modem, and Up…

Xiaomi India Bets on Offline Sales, Partners with E-Distributors

Xiaomi has been one of the first companies to strictly stick to the Online sales channel and most of their sales were garnered after the company successfully created an image for itself on the world wide web. Now with the declining sales and increased competition from other smartphone manufacturers Xiaomi has decided to enhance its offline presence with more than 5000 offline outlets. In order to do so, Xiaomi has announced that it will partner with Just Buy Live and Innocomm, companies that operate the offline sales model by leveraging the e-commerce model. The DTR (direct-to-retail) model seems like a clever idea to retain the offline profit margins by avoiding the middle man and instead letting the retailer order directly from the main distributor. This move will help Xiaomi mark its presence in stores like Sangeeta, LOT Mobiles, and many other local retailers. This is what Manu Kumar Jain, India Head, Xiaomi had to say, “We are primarily an e-commerce company and we have brought our…
