We’ve seen various attempts in the past by smartphone OEMs for creating headlines through announcing incredibly cheap products. Although, whether it’s “Namotel” or Freedom 251, none of them have actually managed to deliver and fulfill their overweening promises. And now, there’s a new name in the market – ChampOne that is offering its C1 4G smartphone at an unbelievable price of just Rs 501.Too good to be true? Well it is. The price tag of Rs 501 is if you’re lucky enough to be chosen in the flash sale, else the phone is priced at Rs 8,000. [Now you know why we have the * next to the price in the title!]First and foremost, let’s get the specifications out of the way, the ChampOne C1 (get it?) features a 5-inch HD IPS panel up front and is powered by an MT6735 Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz. Furthermore, there’s 2GB of RAM, 2500mAh battery with Quick Charge (we assume they mean 2.1A fast charging here), and 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB via a MicroSD card. …

Is that the new Samsung phone?”That question, addressed to us by at least four different people, sums up the new Asus ZenFone 3‘s visual impact on people. Mind you, a couple of years ago, reminding people of Samsung would have meant “plasticky and predictable.” Today, however, things are different. Facebook removes story descriptions for Trending Topics & replaces with number of mentions

Facebook is changing up the way it displays Trending Topics, removing the story descriptions that were previously listed beside topics, and now only showing a “simplified” topic and its number of mentions.An announcement posted on Facebook’s newsroom website included the following image to highlight the changes being made to Trending Topics, showing the previous box with short story descriptions and the new layout that lists the topic and number of mentions it has generated.Facebook says the mentions reflect, “…the number of original posts that mention the topic and shares of posts about the topic.”According to Facebook, Trending Topics continue to be based on a user’s activity – page likes, location, and the previous trending topics the user interacted with, along with whatever is trending overall – but, the Trending Topics product does still include a human element.“There are still people involved in this process to ensure that the topics that appear in Trending remain high-quality …
