Survey: Almost 40% of US consumers will make a mobile purchase during holidays

A recent study from ad tech company Fluent shows that about 40 percent of US consumers plan to make at least one purchase this holiday season on a mobile device. And age is one of the key factors in whether the consumer plans to do any mobile shopping.The company surveyed nearly 2,000 US consumers in late September to ask about their holiday shopping plans, and found that 39 percent said they plan to make at least one purchase on a mobile device this year. Younger shoppers are more likely to go mobile: Almost half of those aged 18-44 say they’ll use a mobile device, compared to only 33 percent of the 45-and-up crowd.Fluent’s survey also further emphasizes the complementary nature between online research and offline shopping. A total of about 54 percent of respondents said they’ll do most of their research via those two online channels, while 47 percent said brick-and-mortar stores will be their primary place for research (numbers are rounded).But those physical stores are still where …

InFocus Epic 1 with Helio X20 Deca Core Processor Launched at Rs 12,999

InFocus, the US-based OEM has unveiled its latest smartphone in India dubbed the Epic 1. It is the first smartphone from the company’s Epic lineup to launch in India. To keep things short, InFocus Epic 1 is a metal unibody smartphone that comes with upper mid-range specifications at a price of Rs 12,999.The InFocus Epic 1 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080p) FHD LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top. Under the hood, the mid-range smartphone is powered by a deca-core Helio X20 (MT6797) processor from Mediatek. This is one of those latest processors from the Taiwanese chipmaker that comes with two Cortex A72 cores and a two other sets of A53 cores. Handling the graphics task is a Mali T880MP4 GPU. Just in case you are unaware, the Exynos 8890 powering the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge runs on the same GPU except for the fact that it has markedly higher number of cores.The Helio X20 is mated with 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Some web forms have to be longer than normal. While an ecommerce site can limit the user entry to an email, delivery address and payment details, some sites need more information.For example, forms on travel and financial websites have to be longer than most by necessity.Long forms like this can be off-putting for users as they can give the impression that the process is going to be time-consuming.For example, 13% of users abandon bookings on travel websites because the booking process is too long or overcomplicated.So how can forms be made more palatable for users?The look and feel of the formIt can be about the customer’s perception of the form. IBM’s Weather Company employs Watson to boost its updated ad targeting platform

The Weather Company’s visualization of its app users’ daily patterns The Weather Company has taken another step toward predicting much more than just weather.Now owned by IBM, the company has unveiled an updated and rebranded ad targeting platform called Journeyfx.
