There is consensus among analysts that e-commerce will spur holiday retail sales growth this year.Forrester forecasts online sales to grow 13.5 year over year. EMarketer pegs e-commerce growth at 16.2 percent, while Internet Retailer is projecting 15.5 percent growth over last year. The most optimistic estimate comes from Deloitte, which expects to see 17 to 22 percent increase in e-commerce sales in 2018 compared with 16.6 percent in 2017. The firm expects e-commerce sales to reach $128 to $134 billion this year.Strong economy, more online source usage. The end of Google+ after a data breach and how it affects us

Google has decided to shut down Google+ after discovering a data breach. How should we react to the news? Not many of us were surprised to hear that Google+ will stop existing in a few months. The only surprise came in the way the news was revealed with Google announcing a data breach that led them to this decision.Google has published a blog post last week mentioning that they discovered a bug in the API for Google+ that allowed third-party developers to access data of 500,000 users with unauthorized permission. What’s interesting is that they didn’t disclose the breach back in March when they discovered it and they only brought it to the public after The Wall Street Journal covered it in a post. The story became so big that Google knew that they had to respond to it.They’ve provided more details in their recent blog post about the bug:Underlining this, as part of our Project Strobe audit, we discovered a bug in one of the Google+ People APIs:Users can grant access to their Profile data…

Do you still need a PPC tool with the new Google Ads?

On the surface, it’s easy to wrongly conclude that Google and Bing are automating PPC pros right out of relevance. Basic PPC tasks can now happen with very little human intervention through the Google and Bing interfaces — easy enough for a novice PPC manager to create and launch pretty good campaigns. That’s terrific. The big engines have made viable PPC accessible to the masses. Today, even a basic mom and pop shop can drive business effectively and inexpensively by tapping into the billions of searches happening daily. The challenge, though, is that great PPC is actually becoming more challenging than ever, in part because of automation. Ironic? Yes. And while it may seem that Google and Bing have made it really easy to operate solely within their platforms, there is actually greater need for powerful third-party tools — a trend we expect to see continue.Let’s address the obvious head-on: Optmyzr is one of those third-party tools, so, of course, we’ll say our service is needed. It’s …

Is hiding paid backlinks from Google actually possible?

Your website’s link profile is basically one of your biggest areas of concern. Given the kind of penalties levied by Google for any misconduct related to your link profile, the concern is well-justified. The truth is that link profile building is a time-consuming activity that requires judicious decisions; especially when you are pondering over the thought of buying backlinks for your own website. However, a report also talks about how a sample of 750,000 well-shared articles over 50% had zero external links. This points to the widespread shallow SEO knowledge where website owners don’t care enough to build and earn links for their website. And sometimes the ones who are doing well don’t necessarily care about ethics.A lot of website owners struggle with their site’s Search Engine Optimization due to several reasons. Since backlinks are a quick and efficient way of spiking your site’s traffic and ranking, many of them resort to adopting unethical ways of getting these backlinks i.e. bu…
