Snap executive team gets two new chiefs: a chief business officer and chief strategy officer

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel announced two new chief executives in an email to employees on October 24.Jeremi Gorman has been hired to serve as the company’s chief business officer, starting in November, and Jared Grusd has been named chief strategy officer after the departure of Imran Khan, Snap’s former chief strategy officer, last month.Snap recruits Amazon’s head of ad sales. Snap’s new chief business officer, Jeremi Gorman, has been recruited from Amazon where she served as the head of global advertising sales for the e-commerce giant. In her role at Snap, Gorman will be tasked with increasing Snapchat’s advertising business.The new chief strategy officer. Jared Grusd has been hired to serve as Snap’s new chief strategy officer, a role formerly held by Imran Khan who had been with Snap since 2015. A new study conducted by Marketing Land parent company Third Door Media, released Thursday, underscores Amazon’s ad business is just getting started.Is Amazon ready to rival Google and Facebook? Marketers acknowledge the platform’s rapid growth but say before it can truly compete with Google and Facebook, it needs to solve some persistent pain points. In our survey, forty-six percent of those advertising cited inadequate reporting and 43 percent said limited optimization tactics as their biggest challenges in using Amazon ads. Study confirms brands’ worst fears about unsafe content

However in the past several years it has gained more importance and urgency, with incidents and advertiser concerns growing.A new study from brand safety platform CHEQ, media agency IPG Mediabrands and automaker BMW aimed to quantify the risk to brands that appear next to “unsafe” content. In short, the study found being associated with unsafe content had a significant, negative impact on brand perceptions, consumer trust and intent to buy.Not just a survey. The study’s methodology makes makes its findings more credible than if were simply the product an abstract survey of consumer sentiment. Market research firm Ipsos announced on Tuesday it is acquiring social listening platform Synthesio, the latest in a series of industry-wide mergers and acquisitions of social platforms.Deal terms were not made public. Synthesio’s platform, featured as a Leader in the most recent Forrester Wave report on that sector, allows brands to monitor what is being posted about them and competitors in social media, and to discern trends.How they will combine. AdSense users will have to submit all new sites for verification

Google announced an update to the process of monetizing new sites under existing AdSense accounts this week.What’s new? If you want to monetize a site with AdSense advertising, it will need to be added to your AdSense account for review. Before this change, AdSense users could simply add their existing AdSense code to a site without having to set it up as a separate site in their AdSense accounts.Now, every new site will go through a verification process to check that you own the domain or have the ability to modify its content and to review the site for AdSense policy compliance. When a site gets approved, it will be marked as “ready” in the account and can start displaying AdSense ads. The change applies to new and existing AdSense account holders.With this update, the My Sites tab in the AdSense interface is getting renamed Sites and will be more prominent in a spot further up the navigation menu.What you need to do.
